WATCHING PLANES rocks Weyfest!

Once a year the sleepy town of Farnham rolls over like a sleepy giant rising from slumber and with a mighty yawn becomes an incessant hive of activity, playing host to a multitude of fans who descend upon it to see some of the celebrated acts of their age … and discover some new ones!

It is … WEYFEST time! Here is a taster of Watching Planes, Morris dancing, Temperance Movement, Charley Farley Sunday Four, The Strawbs and Bobin Bibi.

Rural Life Centre, Tilford, Surrey, UK

Flocking from far and wide … seems like Temperance Movement arrived from Mos Eisley, for reasons other than rockin’ the suburbs!

Played across 4 stages over 3 days it is indeed a major festival, attracting the likes of UB40, The Stranglers, Echo & the Bunnymen who play to stadium-style audiences in the massive Beekeepers Stage arena!

However, for those seeking the muses of tomorrow, the more intimate setting of the Rustic Stage provided a good opportunity to uncover new acoustic gems such as … WATCHING PLANES

Supersonic Sound – the WATCHING PLANES set!

Someone with a keen sense of irony placed the Rustic Stage in the … LIBRARY!
And there was WATCHING PLANES, an energetic 5-piece outfit all set to go SUPERSONIC despite all the ‘Silence Please’ signs!

	The set started with You Don’t Have To. It isn’t everyday you hear the count-in 1-2-3-4 … 5! WATCHING PLANES is the brainchild of songcrafters Kris Wilkins (vocals, guitar) & Duncan Morter (bass, harmony) who originally united as part of a Beatles tribute band and used that as a runway to explore their own world of harmony and composition! 	Next was the reflective track, If Only. Norbert Varga (keyboards), Czaba (drums) and Pallab Sarkar (percussion) completed the line-up!
	This dreamy tune manages to sound smooth while still managing to incorporate fibonacci into the lyrics!
	A laid-back acoustic track with nice harmonies to make one … fly away!
	Is it about Monica Lewinsky or Winston Churchill??? Gotta listen to find out!
	Another finely crafted pop tune that will linger on in the mind long after the stalls have sold out and the tents have ben pulled down!
	The meditative but rousing finale, The Answer (Shangri-La)!

Although the Rustic Stage felt like the centre of the universe at the time, one still had to explore the other arenas in the Rural Life Centre.

So venturing towards the Beekeepers Stage, lo and behold! A group of magnificently clad Morris dancers!
